Are Grand Archive Cards Worth Money? The Ladder Ends in a Cliff

Grand Archive's rarity ladder climbs gently to an $8.73 Ultra Rare, then jumps off a cliff: the Collector Super Rare medians $302 and 94% of them clear $100. Here is the data.

In this guide

Grand Archive's market has a shape you can draw with two lines: a gentle slope, then a wall. Every rarity from Common to Ultra Rare climbs politely in single digits, and then one tier up the price multiplies thirty-five fold. If you hold a Grand Archive collection, exactly one question matters: is there a Collector Super Rare in it?

The gentle slope

Across 3,641 priced Grand Archive singles in 47 sets, a Common medians $0.20 and the ladder rises step by step to the Ultra Rare at $8.73. That is a normal, healthy rarity curve, and nothing on it will change your week. The full curve is in the Grand Archive collector cliff study.

The cliff

The Collector Super Rare, the alt-art chase tier, medians $301.72, about 35x the Ultra Rare below it and 862x the typical card. It is also remarkably consistent: 94% of Collector Super Rares clear $100, so a CSR is close to a guaranteed three-figure card. The top CSR, Fragmented Spirit of Fire, runs about $1,500, and the game's overall ceiling is the Beseech the Winds promo near $2,000.

Why the cliff exists

The CSR is a short-printed alt-art treatment, the collectible layer stacked above the playable game, the same architecture as the Riftbound Showcase and the Lorcana Enchanted. Grand Archive just makes the boundary unusually sharp: below it a nice binder, above it a payday.

How to value your Grand Archive cards

  1. Hunt the CSRs first; with 94% of them over $100, each one is the payday check.
  2. Pin the exact printing and filter to Near Mint or better.
  3. Average the four lowest current offers for that exact printing.
