Open a Lorcana booster and the pull that makes the box worth it is an Enchanted. Almost the entire value of a Lorcana card lives in that one printing: an ordinary copy is usually bulk, while its Enchanted can be worth many times more, and the data below puts a hard number on exactly how much.
What an Enchanted is
Every Enchanted is the same character from the same set as a normal card, just given a foil-only, short-printed alternate-art treatment. Because it is a separate, scarcer printing, it has its own market and its own price, which is why "how much more is the Enchanted" has a real, measurable answer.
The Enchanted is basically the whole card
We matched 201 of these pairs to measure it directly. The standard version trades at a median of just $0.35 non-foil (about $1.23 in foil), effectively bulk. The Enchanted of the same card trades at a median of $102. Comparing like for like, foil to foil, that is a median 66x premium, and against the non-foil copy most players own it is about 235x. In other words, practically all of a Lorcana card's value is in the Enchanted alt art.
The premium is biggest on the cheap cards
The size of the jump depends on how valuable the base card already is. Enchanteds built on Rares run a median 105x their standard foil, on Super Rares 97x, but on Legendaries (cards that already carry value) only 22x. The alt art sets the ceiling every time; it just adds the most when the base card is bulk. The extreme case: a Winnie the Pooh - Hunny Wizard Enchanted trades around $1,245 against a $0.39 standard, a 3191x jump, while an Elsa - Spirit of Winter Enchanted is "only" 31x because its standard foil is already $29.
Why the Enchanted holds the value
Two forces stack: scarcity, because the Enchanted is foil-only and short-printed, and demand, because collectors specifically want the full-art version. How to value your Enchanted
