Mostly bulk, with a twist
We priced 8,487 Digimon Card Game singles across 100 sets, and 62% of them trade under $1. By typical value the highest tier is the Special Rare, the full-art SPs, at a median $121. The chase hides in the "Rare Pull" finish
Here is the twist. The single most valuable cards in the game are all in the Secret Rare tier, which has a modest $7.98 median yet a $1,913 ceiling. That gap is not the rarity, it is the finish: the textured, foil "Rare Pull" and X Antibody alternate arts of fan favorites like WarGreymon, Omnimon and MetalGarurumon are short-printed and run into four figures, while an ordinary Secret Rare stays cheap. The rarity symbol tells you less than whether the card is a textured Rare Pull.
The chase Digimon cards
The top of the market is a row of beloved Digimon in premium finishes: a WarGreymon Rare Pull at $1,913, a MetalGarurumon Rare Pull $1,500, a BeelStarmon X Antibody (textured) $1,450, a Magnamon X Antibody $1,372, and an Omnimon Rare Pull $1,280. Every one is a special finish of a fan-favorite, not just a high rarity symbol.
Why the finish beats the rarity
A textured Rare Pull is a short-printed premium treatment of a character collectors already want, which is scarce plus wanted, the same premium recipe behind every chase card. It is the exact pattern of the Gundam +/++ parallel, the Dragon Ball Fusion World Super Alt Art, and the Lorcana Enchanted. Across games, the special treatment beats the rarity letter.
How to value your Digimon cards
- Identify the treatment, not just the rarity: is it an ordinary card, or a textured Rare Pull / X Antibody alternate art? That is most of the value.
- Filter to Near Mint or better.
- Average the four lowest current offers for that exact printing.
