Are Buddyfight Cards Worth Anything? A Discontinued Game's Honest Numbers

Future Card Buddyfight ended in 2021. Most of its cards trade near $0.66 and the whole game tops out around $150. Here is the honest picture and the few cards that matter.

Bushiroad printed a farewell card when it ended Future Card Buddyfight in 2021: a promo that reads "Dear Buddyfighter, Final Thank You." That card is a fair symbol for the whole market. The game is finished, the community moved on, and what remains is a modest, honest market with a soft top.

A flattish, modest market

Across 2,717 priced Buddyfight singles in 96 sets, the median card trades at $0.66 and 59% sit under $1. The top is genuinely soft: the 99th-percentile card is only about 61x the median, one of the flatter distributions we have measured. The tier detail is in the Buddyfight rarity study.

The thin apex

Value climbs the Bushiroad ladder (C, U, R, RR, Secret, RRR, SP) to a thin apex of the iconic Leader and Buddy dragons, topping out around $150 with Thunder Flares Leader, Barlbatzz Dragoroyale in RRR. Three-figure Buddyfight cards exist, but barely, and there is exactly no four-figure tier.

What that means for your binder

Like Force of Will, Buddyfight is a game where a fast honest answer beats a long hopeful search: check your RRR and SP dragons against current offers, and treat the rest as a lot. Unlike the WoW TCG with its loot cards, there is no hidden jackpot class to hunt.

How to value your Buddyfight cards

  1. Pull the RRR, SP and Secret dragons first; the rest of the binder is bulk territory.
  2. Pin the exact printing and filter to Near Mint or better.
  3. Average the four lowest current offers for that exact printing.
