Are Force of Will Cards Worth Anything? The Flattest Market in the Hobby

Force of Will is the flattest TCG market we have measured: the single priciest card tops out around $110 and the 99th percentile is only 38× the median. Here is what that means for your binder.

In this guide

Here is the most honest sentence on this blog: if you have a Force of Will binder from the game's 2015 heyday, it is probably not hiding a jackpot, and knowing that in five minutes is worth more than hoping for a week. Force of Will is the flattest card market we have ever measured, and flat cuts both ways.

The flattest ladder we have measured

Across 6,451 priced Force of Will singles in 100 sets, the median card trades at $0.62 and 64% sit under $1. What makes the game unusual is the top: the 99th-percentile card is only about 38x the median. For comparison, that ratio is 124x in Sorcery and 3,646x in Riftbound. The full comparison is in the Force of Will flat-market study.

The ceiling is $110

The single most valuable card in the entire game, Cheshire Cat, The Pilgrinning in Wonderland, a Secret rarity, tops out around $110. Uber Rares median about $10 and the six Secret cards about $76. There is no lottery ticket tier: no Force of Will card will pay your rent, and almost none will pay for dinner.

The upside of flat

Flat also means the floor is decent: at a $0.62 median, an ordinary Force of Will binder holds more per-card value than most games' bulk, which typically sits well under half that. A 500-card collection is not treasure, but it is not confetti either, and it prices out fast because there are no wild outliers to research.

How to value your Force of Will cards

  1. Pull the Uber Rares and Secrets first; that is where the modest top lives.
  2. Pin the exact printing and filter to Near Mint or better.
  3. Average the four lowest current offers for that exact printing.
