The most valuable Weiss Schwarz cards (and which franchises rule the game)

Weiss Schwarz is a crossover game: every set is a licensed anime, game or vtuber series, from Frieren to Azur Lane to hololive. We took the price of 20,487 singles across 171 sets to find the most valuable cards and the franchises that command the most.

Mostly bulk, with a gold-stamp chase

The typical Weiss Schwarz card is a median $0.44 and 65% trade under $1. Nearly all the value sits in a thin layer of hot-stamped chase rarities, the SP, SSP, SEC and SEC+ “gold stamp” and “gold signature” cards, which are short-run, often autographed alternate versions of a series’ most popular character. A base card of that same character is usually bulk; the gold-stamp version is the whole value.

FAQ

Are Weiss Schwarz cards worth money?

Most are not — Weiss Schwarz is a mostly-bulk game. Across 20,487 singles the median card is $0.44 and 65% trade under $1. The value is concentrated in a thin layer of hot-stamped chase cards (the SSP, SEC+ and SP "gold stamp" and "gold signature" rarities), which run from the low hundreds up to ~$1,500.

Which anime has the most valuable Weiss Schwarz card?

Frieren. Its Favorite Magic, Frieren (SSP) is the single most valuable card in the game at around $1,553. Goddess of Victory: Nikke and The Eminence in Shadow are close behind, with chase cards around $1,500 and $1,250. Franchise value tracks a series' popularity at the time its set released.

What makes a Weiss Schwarz card valuable?

The special hot-stamped rarities. Above the normal C/U/R/RR cards, Weiss prints short-run parallels stamped in gold foil — SP (Signature), SSP, SEC and SEC+ — often as autographed or full-art alternate versions of a series' most popular character. Those are the cards that carry real money; a base card of the same character is usually bulk.

Where does this data come from, and is it reliable?

We took the TCGplayer market price of every priced Weiss Schwarz single (sealed booster boxes and cases excluded by name) across all 171 sets via the open tcgcsv.com dataset (TCGplayer market price via the open tcgcsv.com dataset, valued 2026-07-05). These are reference estimates for raw cards, not sold or graded records, and many Japanese-only sets are excluded because they carry no TCGplayer price. We never scrape marketplaces and never invent a number; the figures are reproducible from the open dataset.
