Flesh & Blood prints many cards three ways: plain non-foil, a common Rainbow Foil, and a rare Cold Foil. Same card, three prices. We matched every card that has both a non-foil and a foil to measure exactly what each foil tier is worth.
Two foils, two very different taxes
The common Rainbow Foil is a modest upgrade: a median 2× the non-foil, with 52% clearing 2×. The rare Cold Foil is a different animal: a median 8.3× the non-foil, about 4.1× the Rainbow Foil premium, with 42% at 10×+ and 18% at 25×+. If you are chasing value in Flesh & Blood, the Cold Foil is the card; the Rainbow Foil is a nice-to-have.

The premium swings with the base card: a bulk non-foil like Refraction Bolters ($0.38) yields the biggest multiple (763×), while an already-valuable base like Courage of Bladehold ($3.73) gives a “smaller” 57×. The Cold Foil is the ceiling either way.
Method & sources
- For every Flesh & Blood card we pulled the non-foil, Rainbow Foil and Cold Foil TCGplayer market price via the open tcgcsv.com dataset.
- We match a foil to its non-foil within the same card and edition (1st Edition to 1st Edition, Unlimited to Unlimited), so the only variable is the foil treatment (3,955 Rainbow-Foil and 409 Cold-Foil pairs).
- Per card we take the ratio, then the median of the per-card ratios, robust to one extreme card.
- TCGplayer market price via the open tcgcsv.com dataset. Valued 2026-07-05. Reference estimates for raw cards, not sold or graded records; prices move. Reproducible from the open dataset.

Are Flesh and Blood Cold Foils worth more than the regular card?
By a lot. A Cold Foil is the game's rare, cosmetic-chase treatment. Across 409 cards that have both a non-foil and a Cold Foil TCGplayer price, the Cold Foil sells for a median 8.3× the non-foil of the exact same card, 74% are at least 5× and 42% at least 10×. The typical Cold Foil is $2.01 while the non-foil is near-bulk ($0.16), and the top ones clear $200.
What's the difference between a Rainbow Foil and a Cold Foil in FaB?
Rainbow Foil is the common foil treatment that shows up regularly in packs; Cold Foil is short-printed and treated as a premium collectible. Where does this data come from, and is it reliable?
For each card we compared the non-foil, Rainbow Foil and Cold Foil TCGplayer market price via the open tcgcsv.com dataset, matching by product and edition so it is the same card and printing run (TCGplayer market price via the open tcgcsv.com dataset, valued 2026-07-05). We take the ratio per card then the median of the per-card ratios, robust to one extreme card. These are reference estimates for raw cards, not sold or graded records, and prices move. We never scrape marketplaces and never invent a number; the figures are reproducible from the open dataset.
