Are these the prices cards actually sold for?
No, these are approximate market reference prices aggregated via free card-data APIs (Scryfall for Magic, pokemontcg.io for Pokémon), not records of completed sales. They show roughly what a card trades around; the real price you pay or receive depends on condition, edition, grading and demand at the moment of the deal.
How is this list ranked, and how often does it update?
Cards are ranked highest to lowest by their reference price pulled live from the source data, with unpriced cards left off. Pokémon prices come from the free pokemontcg.io API (Cardmarket-derived EUR); we use the Cardmarket trend price (a current-market figure) rather than last-sale averages, which can spike on a single old sale for ultra-rare cards. Source prices refresh roughly daily and this page caches them, so figures reflect our most recent reading rather than a live quote.
Why isn't a particular Pokémon card higher on the list?
A card ranks lower (or doesn't appear) when the source data has no recent reference value for that exact printing, we don't fill those gaps with estimates. We also exclude tokens, oversized/art cards and non-tournament collectible reprints so the ranking stays to genuine cards.
